Most of the windows computers are loaded with antivirus like McAfee, Kaspersky or Norton. These anti virus software install plugins inside Microsoft outlook to sacn emails for viruses but they sometimes cause problems with the functionality of the Outlook causing symptoms like:
1. Slow emails in the inbox
2. Hanging of Microsoft Outlook
3. Causing Outlook to be non-responding for long duration
And many such issues
You can correct this behaviour simply by disabling anti-virus Addins using options in the Microsoft Outlook

Click on File > Options > Add-Ins

Now look in the Active Application Add-Ins. I had Kaspersky Anti-virus installed on my system so I disabled the following two :

  1. Kaspersky Anti-Spam Add-In

  2. Kaspersky Anti-virus Add-In

If you have Norton or any other antivirus you can simply read the name and disable accordingly.

After doing this close the outlook and restart the Outlook .. this will most probably resolve most of the Outlook issues
